Closing Remarks & Presentation Of CTF Prizes - BSides Galway

Okay, everyone. I'm going to be very quick here in closing this up. Um, so yeah, I guess want to start with a couple of thank yous. Um, everyone who'd attended like, you know, it's it's great to see so many people in Gway and interested in cyber security. Like, um, you know, it's very rewarding, I think, for myself, for Scott, and all of the other volunteers who who helped out. I'm not going to name everybody, but you'll see them all the the t-shirt, red t-shirts, and if you want to say thank you, I think they'd appreciate that. And it's nice to see so many people in Gway enjoying cyber security and enjoying cyber security talks. Um, you know, I

didn't didn't think we'd get the turnout we got, so I appreciate that. Um, I want to say thank you to all of our sponsors cuz I guess as we you know, Scott said and at the start and I just want to reiterate that none of us would be here today and we wouldn't have had the day we had without our sponsors. Samuel from Zero Days who's going to list off who we have and I'm going to ask Philip from Sakura to pop down or maybe Sachin if you could just stick your head out and grab Phillip and we'll hand out the prizes and um so the prizes that we have for three prizes. So for third place um we have a flipper zero. For second place we have a flipper zero with the add-ons of the Wi-Fi and gaming modules. And then for first place, we have a cash prize of 500. So we'll get Philip in and we'll see who the winners

Um, also going to say that the competition was especially fierce. Um, top four were all about 100 points between each other. So, congratulations if you you made that point.

And yeah, so that is, you know, I have one final thank you and I guess as a speaking up here, we've good sound. We've had video recording all day. So I really want to call out and say thank you to Martin. Really appreciate how you've helped us with the AV and how smoothly things have run. That's largely down to you. So thank you for that.

And I'm sure I've forgotten people and it's maybe the excitement in, you know, the event being over and now that we're getting to move on to the after party on my behalf. Um, so there is an afterparty. Um, so it's in John Ko's and so I have 7:00 p.m. up here. We finished very relatively on time, so I have called them ahead and so and the bar um we're in the back bar and that'll be open from half 6. Um, so myself and Scott and Harsh have drinks tokens. So if anyone if you haven't caught up anyone yet and you're coming to the after party, uh, come find one of the three of us up the top and we'll be

And this is a large part of why I got involved with Besides Gway is trying to build a community of, you know, people working in cyber security here. And I've had the chance to meet a couple of people um today who you know for the first time were working in Gway and um Scott has been running a group that we meet uh called Burps that we meet on the last Sunday of every month. Um you can find us on Meetup and

you know it's a great group. We get together we have a few beers. We chat about security. We don't chat about security sometimes. um you know it's and uh we're meeting tomorrow in Merty Rabbits in some shape or form depending like so we'll definitely be there in body and hopefully we'll all have a great night tonight.
