so just some for this edition some of them are already spoke about in the opening session I have no idea why these okay so we had 480 registrations and we had 400 attendees years so it's as I said this is officially the biggest big site besides Lisbon ever last year we had around 290 so this year 110 more the rest of the status I already spoke about it in the opening so let's move over we had beers at least the Lisbon yesterday just again a thank you note to tenable for food and the drinks and you hope you had fun and made some friends and I'll pass it on to government so city active ok guys so we will go

through the CTF challenges so yeah so this is the fun with flags with besides ok so first I want to thank you all of my colleagues at integrity that helped us into making these challenges and testing them and also to all of the crew members that helped set up the venue yesterday and also to all of the participants of the Qualls and the finals I hope they're there that you guys had fun so in terms of our sponsors for the CTF they are integrity and over over over 1 we'd set with setting up in terms of the infrastructure ok so here we have some photos of yesterday so he had some a few nice lights there yeah a

lot of people not solving challenges also yeah and as the day got darker the room was even nicer so we we have here some year photos by a Claudio are know where he is yeah really nice ones so we have people here trying to hack so here we you have one of our physical challenges that no one actually yeah I think that no one did come on guys so we have people here really focused and really concentrated okay so a few details so we did start at around 1:30 and we did finish at around 6:00 p.m. so we had a duration of three hours and plus thirty minutes because of some unavailability yeah I wonder why

yeah because of some brute forces so yeah so they were 10 teams and we did have 5 categories so we did have like trivia and people love trivia right yeah they do it because a lot of teams did all of the trivia so yeah yeah it's they love it you're gonna do more next year it's reveal it's the only one that most of people did so we have more trivia next year hint hint maybe we've got to start finishing the other ones so we start putting more of the others and we had also forensic lab physical challenges and portables so we did have a total of 14 challenges and of which 8 were at least solved by one team ok so

here we have all of the challenges so we have sides back rather say my name password crime baby no hurts me and file so we are going through all of this and to see how they can't be solved ok so in terms of total of CTF Keys this is not different from last year and from the other ear so it's always I keep getting a lot of keys wrong I don't know why root first probably I don't know it's so easy so yeah just here's the these things in terms of the challenges here are all of the challenges the green ones were solved at least by one team but the others were opened but not

solved so expect them probably for the equals of next year a little bit changed okay so the first one more trivia so food yeah okay so the first one with more Souls so it's called site it was a web 100 so in terms of the description so we have here we found besides Lisbon 2018 development server at this URL and for some reason the site is not a rendering so when we do go through that side so we see this and we have a very nice link there which says mini HTTP version 1.29 so if you click there you would go through the site which has this on the first page so they had a flaw in version

129 which would if you read our arbitrary file so entrance and what is that one two different servers are supposed to do probably surf files right yeah but not everyone's I guess okay so if you did a little a little bit of digging around you would find that you could read et Cie password so and you could just not put the hosts so when you don't put the hosts it would let you read all of the files and this is not a made-up but this is the real one so and afterwards you could just find the flag within the its EDC passwd file okay so this one was easy everyone did it okay so moving on so trivial which was

trivial so we had nine teams that solved this one so it's called router and the text is my router is high on drugs so I have no comment so if you started thinking and searching a little bit we would eventually found this which is the attack so that's why the router was high on drugs with this flaw and this is the key re re installation attack found in 2016 and these disclosed by the end of last year okay so easy another one which is called back another trivia so nine teams did it so people love you exactly and this one it's a file which is called beam and it is asking for what vulnerability do we have here so after

downloading the file we can just do a file to the beam and we can see that it is ASCII text and after that we could just get it and see what it had on side it's obvious so it's pretty clear and nine of the ten teams did it so this is the C you realize the object in this case in Python so the flaw here is the serialization okay moving on so trivia the last one so only six teams did this it was a little bit harder and the text is what's our FV real name so this one is I suggested this to be a hundred sorry I suggested that it would be a hundred I don't know why in stream

yeah for you because you are a little bit exactly but yeah I'm wiser yeah so this one is not just a simple Google search but I mean six of teams did it so I think that trivia was really easy you need Google for this come on man you don't know Jeff Worstell so this one was from our FV which is the handle for rain forest puppy and and the real name which is Jeff Forrestal so and a few fun facts about him yeah it basically is the guy who documented or probably discovered sequel injections now the first one and actually this year on the 25th of December it's going to be 25 years yeah so why god it's 20 years and there's no

more signal injection in a morsel but I think that these were all out of a job go home any other fun fact about him also it's in terms of the responsible security this disclosure was actually structured and by him the other RFP policy exactly okay I heard because I'm not from that time sure sure so yeah we have here the frack article from the 25th of December of 1998 we don't do a party on that day sorry we have to do a party on that day exactly I mean it's it's it's a special I think crystals yeah people even put lights on the street and all because people do other crazy stuff for less yeah okay moving on

to the next least soft challenge in this case password which was upon about 100 and I think that it's a little people on the on the desperate side and we'll try to I understand why and here in terms of this this scription we do have a hurry up we found the server that the organizers are using to store the plans for the next two besides Lisbon which are very valuable yeah and after some user in enumeration we found that the SSH user is besides Lisbon amateurs come on that's an obvious username I wonder if they used front passwords by the way if you guys got the plans for the next besides Lisbon let us know because we have my

thanks

so after going through this support we could just try to access it and if we did like minus V on the SSH we could see that it is and leap ssh based demon so based on these and based on a trivia question from the Qualls which was about this book which was released around two months ago if I'm not wrong so after trying to find scripts that are created so X Watts for this and we can see the bear that when we are starting an SSH connection we would just send that flag to to tell the server that we are already authenticated and the server are you sure just come in so after using this you we could run

commands so right there we can see that we have an LS command and here the output ok but this I have just a small example in terms of how to find the key so this one was a tricky one when you get here on the user's home there you would find these two one folder and one demon so after accessing this folder you will have these like three dots so we don't know what that is because we have like the home dear and the parent there and this one don't like the parent on the parent I don't know probably sibling or something so yeah it was really sneaky but it was there and it drove

people mad I'm sorry for that yeah you got any weird Linux boxes guys yeah three points yeah I mean it's tricky yeah and we have like teams doing like fool grabs on the server which was not a cool thing but yeah so and here we had the flag so this was upon Apple 100 next we have like the prime which is a web 200 I will let you go through you know if I can remember it show me the slide okay so here we have the text which is which says the in the inventor or cybersecurity I want no I don't know who that is you don't know okay you will you find seng so created the

most modern quantum prime calculator let's see quantum prime okay so we're on so and you have this URL after going here you would just find basically it's it the answer is there because it's a super secure testing infrastructure that enables our resilient cryptographic engine so it's basic SSD irce come on guys so it's just template injection and you got a remote code execution in so you have number yep so we can see here and this is signed by mr. John McMurray yeah so he's from here inventor yeah he's a guy it's unhackable and he uses this for checking if a number is prime so you just do a jason request with number something and you get if the

number is are not a prime and it actually works and you can win 20 million bug bounty interrupts aligns okay so here the feature we could just try to see if a number was a prime number and the server with would answer with true or false yeah but if we tried something like this we will get a result so here we can see that that that we have server-side template injection yeah and if you do sometimes you end up noticing that this is ginger too and it's basically on Python which is useful for against to to exploit this we had to actually change the challenge in the middle because you're inserting huge prime numbers and

you're killing the Machine and you guys know that that was not the point I knew cares if the number is prime or not and you guys know that peyten with memory it's not that efficient so yeah so he has to make this more unhackable and you couldn't use Prime's over 10,000 it's suing hackable and afterwards I don't know if you want to explain this part yeah it's basically it's you have you write that and you read the key so python as an introspection the thing that I have I didn't know about before making this and you can just go up into classes and then go back into the subclasses and the modules and so on it has an array as you

see there 19-0 and stuff and basically what you're doing there is a pop open of care to private they're resilient cube to engine private key reads and you get the flag lands for bonus points basically there were quite a few CTF that use this in Python 2.7 which is too easy for you guys so I had to do this in Python 3 which was a bit more trouble but at least you couldn't just copy place the solution you had to read actually learn how this works but then I also did it's ok so moving on so next we had a physical challenge the physical 100 which is called baby no hurts me and this one says there there is a number

there is a rumor of your number station out there and this one you would need to go through our station and grab this radio and plug in headphone jacks with a jack so no Bluetooth here and it was actually funny because a few of our participants I think that had never seen a radio or touched it so this is this is basically you know Spotify yeah that's the same thing but with batteries I think that's the best description I it was fun and this one was created by claudio so i don't think if you have audio but it should i should have all your rush

now we have the volume here perfect okay so we can just hear a little bit so so if you just try to find the right frequency you would get this message so after listening through all of these digits next you would get this so it was a little bit long and we did have teams that took like two times to just be sure about it so did you feel like in the Cold War you know like Russian spies and afterwards you guys would need to find what were behind this so if you saw just a quick note this this challenge was like two years to make okay so this really lots of artwork here we start of having it

last year but it was very difficult to have a radio station working okay so we had to talk to North Korea and so on and came finally after two years helpless right so after trying to search ways to do the decoding off of this you guys could just step on on on this side with it which is a French sight if I'm not wrong and afterwards it will try to do a little bit of brute force and find that actually we have a group groupings of three digits that then are converted and then we would get this part and after using that and trying to see that it is actually a base64 would reach from this

to yes encrypted in base 56 it's a-okay so this was the physical 100 so I think this one is the last is the last challenge that that was solved and it was only solved by one team it was a little bit hard I think but it was a forensic 100 so in here we have the text of Elliot Alderson sends you this file and after getting this we could just file to the file and to see which file it is so and here we have two files we have not this file but this file and file underscore and use the command file to do the file on file yeah so I think this is file file file on this car and

fine fine yeah so we have a lot of files here after doing this file file file we will check that they are the same I'm just getting a copy so this is a copy of this one so that we can mount both so we are mounting both here on M and T 1 and M and T 2 but the only difference in terms of mounting is this flag which is called and hide so this is specific in terms of this ISO so after doing that we can see the difference and you had to use a flag to get the flag so the file to check the file and the flag to get the flag it

seems it's in front so after here we can see the first amount so and this is the second one after doing that we can see that we have another mp3 file here so we have another song after going through this song I'm not going to play it because it has a lot of background noise so you would afterwards after a lot of tries to basically understand what was being said you would basically find this flag ok so this was the challenges of the CTF so now we are going to move to the RFID badge well we don't know what happened but actually people hacked the unhackable wallet we regretted and shocked and we're still going to go to production because that's

what everyone else does and only in the whole world how many people are in the world and I know billions people billions billions trillions I'm sure only around 10 people were able to hack it it's safe I think it's safe it's safe it's like a tiny percentage of everyone in the world so I think it we can still say it's unhackable okay so moving through the AF idea so all all all of you have one of these and we had to basically flash 500 of this so just to show you a little bit of the process one is done now the fun part reason so it simply screwed up the first flashing of five hundred cards so I've had to do it

twice so I did flash them all of the five hundred badges so yeah it was fun it's a fun process and this one was we can see that good but it's basically just the app so it's the flasher so in terms of the of the year of the process it was just put the reader on top of the cards and not the contrary so fun and afterwards wait for it to be synced and then hit enter and do that 1000 1000 times yeah is it busy okay next year beside little will be like 50 people okay so in terms of these 1/2 ID badge we have here two challenges one for the CTF and one

for the conference and we have a visual Easter egg that were actually found which is really nice ok so this was the the conference challenge which is the besides unhackable wallet and here we had like an 1/2 ID either and we have a monitor so that we can interact with it so what we have here is our unhackable wallet and after you just if you wanted to see if you were elite or not you could spend 500 B SLX coins to check for it and everyone starts with ten to ten thousand and each time that you check you lose 500 be SLX cards okay and here we can see one example this person tried a lot so he was with

ten thousand and now only with seven thousand and five hundred and it would keep telling you that you are not elite okay and if you did manage to solve this which we are going to see light later you would okay not yet so if you try to messed with our very secure wallet you would get this so the system was checking if it was being tampered with we used machine learning with cyber analytics Abed actually detect hampering with what shine yeah of course yeah it's a Knobloch chained up in there we actually use to block chains okay ii blockchain make sure that the first blockchain is in tempers and that make sure that the the card is not tempered and actually

it's also as another system that some people discovered that some of the cards when you play to them just basically broke everything it stopped working because it detects tampering and just stops working yeah and it's a shame we have to reset we do you have like years in terms of doing this so we spent like one year just creating ripped so it took us that's why only ten people in the world are able to do it that's an on a serious note this guy was up until 5 a.m. like making this night what it was it was a fun ok so if you did mess up with the card you would get this message and if you did manage to be

a late you would see this message okay so and we can see that we have a lot of places just saying elite elite elite so we are going to you see how to solve this first if you just use a common mobile phone that has an a half ID a chip you could read the contents but if you have enable device although it has and a half ID chip so one a NFC chip is not for you to play with it because Apple don't want you to so yeah you need to go to an Android so after searching for people with Android I did manage to get this from a friend of mine because I don't have an Android so here

we can see on the sector 0 we have like some gibberish on the top some text and afterwards we could see on the sector 1 we have here the value of 10,000 and some other gibberish around here and it is sector 15 so we have jumped from sector 1 to sector 515 and on your right side this is one this is when one person would just try to check if it was elite or not and if we check what have changed here it was these value and this gibberish here ok so first a little bit of my fear classic one kiss come on come on we have prizes don't do it please okay so what

if you did take me with you please come on so here we can see so the sector 0 sector one cycle two to sector 15 so each sector has four blocks so we have the first second third and the fourth block it's basically used to store some data and what data it is so we have here on the first six months we have the key a on the last six bytes we have the key B and here we have some excess bits so key a is used to read these data and he be it's used to write this data so you can have this key but you won't be able to write stuff if you have if you don't have this

one and actually you can do a little bit more with this key but it will depends on this access bit okay so enough of Mifare classic 1k stuff thank God okay so here we can see if we try to read it we can see here in terms of the bits so here we have like one sector from block 0 to block 4 okay so here we can see that we have data all up top ok so we have 0 1 2 and yeah so the for block from 0 to 3 and here we can see the first key in terms to read this data here and here we can see that we have the right key around here ok and this

it's going to be repeated for each sector so we want to basically change these data here so first we would need to find out its key so and how could we do that which we we must first be able to brute-force this so we have an app which is called Mifare classic tool where you can just load one dictionary and you can just brute force this sector and try to find this super complex key here ok so after having this key you can basically write data on these blocks so I could just write another value here so we were always saying elite elite elite so we were expecting for for for people to have 3 1 3 3 7 worth of besides

besides Lisbon points to proof that they are elite but people try this and afterwards they would see that the card was tempered why because we have this data here which changes every time and since it is a very soon secure wallets what this thing is it's just a CRC - no no no no blockchain and stuff what yeah I'm sorry she's already rc30 to blockchain yeah okay so it's safe so after you figured this out you would just write 3 1 3 3 7 here and check what is the crc32 blockchain version of version and afterwards just write it here and you would see that screen of eleaf and a few people managed to do it so

congrats on a year that I can weed stuff after here still exactly yeah prizes okay so moving on here we can see a little bit more we have a tool which which is going to put a few colors so we can here we can see it more easily and actually we have here those excess bits are here on the middle on this last block which is called the trailer and actually there is a fun fact about these bits but we will see them next afterwards we have those sectors which are sector 2 - sector 14 and this is what they have so it started here and it can it continues here and this was basically for the CDF challenge because

people weren't even a NFC either and they should use it to basically brute force these keys if you guys 0 1 2 3 so we have one here another key here and another key here sorry here and here so basically we would find these keys it would take around with that either around 15 minutes to brute force all of these keys but after that we have the rid key we could just come here and grab this first second third first second third and then put it all together and after that you would get a base64 blob which would get you a private key and ECC 512 bits key after the words that could be used to

basically decipher the flag that was already given on that challenge easy right yeah no I did it and if you did have like a proxmark it would take you like seconds like a minute to to to idea basically brute force all of these keys because here we are using an attack which is which is called nested attack so when when when when you don't have one key you need to use the hard nested attack to find the first key and then use that to brute force the others but since here reads read keys was already given so it was just a nested attack on these other sectors remember don't leave home with other proxmark and basically I think I think the main

the main the main message here is that Mifare classic is being broken since 2007 but it's still being sold as a good enough stuff to use but it is not there is no way that you can make this safe so I sent for our wallet which use blockchain stuff so correct except for that it's unhackable sure ten people in the world sure okay so moving on I have talked about that visual easter egg we can't see it here but if we zoom in we can see that on those excess bits of each sector there is one byte field that is not used for in terms of this spec so I did put here the b-sides Lisbon 2018 and so on

actually notice yeah and someone actually notices so it was really nice so it was just an easter egg for you guys to find I think that in terms of the yeah great enough yeah let's go home so everyone [Music] and I really want to stress all the hard work that urban had specifically with a badge challenge because it was only ready for today so what's so onto the prices right you have anything yeah for the qualifiers in the meanwhile please deliver all your surveys and the sponsors passport qualifiers CTF yeah so I am idea who won you should know tonight so it's a mvs so in the room and also yeah come over and he's going to in

a book which he says it's cool I haven't read it I can't read its what's the hackers play language playbook three and an ESP 32 with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth cool stuff - heck yeah that's it so he was the first guy to qualify for the CTF

even reversed MIPS was the first guy to reverse the mips binary yeah which could have contained Trump's tax returns okay so moving on now we are going through the CTF prizes we are so organized this year we actually have it written so prom it's a step up writing stuff on paper yeah so in terms of the CTM it was challenging as you guys can see here we have some swaps in terms of teams on the leads but afterwards we had the XS DF on first so access yeah are you guys around I don't mind getting the prize for myself so yeah and as last year we have special made hoodies only for true hackers these are

the only ones made for this year as the ones for last year and it's actually five of them because we have an idea of the sizes of you guys so there's like two m2l and one XL if I'm not mistaken and there's the greatest hoodies in the world at this point and you also get two Raspberry Pi zero W to have fun which is be careful what you do that we're not responsible for anything you do that and two of the ESP 32 with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi thank you guys congratulations you can go home okay so and that's in second place we have mutiny team three so come up straight [Applause] okay so it's really weird because

they've part of the staff but they had no idea honestly yeah that's why guys from integrity didn't participate because we didn't let them but these guys had nothing to do with the CTF so they didn't even know what the hell was going on so they went to Raspberry Pi zeroes W and one hackers playbook and one ESP 32 with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and third place the team that won last year so probably come over guys again a guy with a red t-shirt really I swear yeah okay it's not fixed okay it's not fixed the guys that won don't have red t-shirts come on man so I think it's very enough and it's two raspberry pi

zeros wn2 esps 32 so one for each congratulations and you can get off stage now okay so moving on to the next prize just one note no one actually hacked Steve's match enough at least it's for us to give prizes we discussed this so we're going to raffle the prices that we had planned so yeah guys so so so we're going what we will do for the RFID badge although it's unhackable there are at least four people in the world that can do this are in the room this is really amazing you guys are elite and so for the RFID badge so we have here's guy to do it I don't have his surname but easier and oh

yeah is there a GU something sorry it's Jack okay and he gets a Raspberry Pi zero the week

congratulations besides actually hacking the unhackable wallet he was the guy that noticed this Iraq also so kudos to that at least no one else mentioned if did it second place it was Ron Popeil and Bloomberg they were the second guys to Hector and hackable wallet and they get you guys and you guys will have to like cut the book in half is going to vertical or horizontal cut yeah the guy just gets all the first part yeah little guys and then third guy was Manuel accomplished you're wrong yeah dear come on over yes one ESP 32 with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth graduations and the first guy was gone south he's still around also yeah is there yeah just gonna clap

him because we have nothing physical for him but now come over come over come over but it gets the greatest prize of all which is a ticket for next year so you'll be back and gets a handshake none of the other guys got the hand so you'll get the ticket for next year because we planned this really well and I said that were for prizes and we had three we are on the service now so yeah yeah so service everyone deliver the service it's always the same thing every year you guys suck at this you know the idea is at this point to have all the service there it's coming down the walk so as it

comes down please put it there

we had okay maybe we'll do first the sponsors passport it's faster because to the service we have a lot of stuff to give away but as soon as the boxes get here we'll start roughly and it will be a blast if you get to the end and we don't have all the prizes that you thought we have because someone screwed up likely me but there's still stuff wrong if anyone still have the sponsorship and sports and the survey please hand them out and to a person you know you're ready I'm sure this will take long because if we take out people that are not here like to keep taking out papers until we find someone around

or just stable flip and go home and cry

these guys are fixing the contest you know they're choosing yeah you know you are you can come okay so sponsors passports first this is a true random number generator I think it's using some wallets okay because those guys are fixing it so that there's a blockchain up there and yeah so if you didn't put your name here to be really fun even if you put if I can't read it it's also not fun Silvia I guess my my yes it has all of this time all of the stamps even from it tell us is even twice and the guys are not even here this is the mature Silvia Maya not in the room you don't get

anything yeah like one second no out next drop Ashiq oh okay

but you get it you see Raspberry Pi zero so very good congratulations and thank you for staying until now that's a trick okay let's see if next person is here all the stamps only once stamped each a giving do it upward I don't think he's here it means on the way to the airport so yeah yes the phone number sorry I want to call you it's a scam yeah it's a scam it we said only because you guys are here so you're suffering you should win stuff exactly the oak Miguel hey Silva I'm not sure if this is a gdpr violation because it's a full name but hopefully not I think this implies consent for us to have this paper and he

wins a Raspberry Pi zero w again yeah it's I'm fifty years okay okay one more hit like five I guess yeah okay fully stamp totally wants bleep it of silver okay nice I know I think it's fixed he said he was going to win this is weird no congratulations it's a scam that was fast yeah and one more and then we have a special price Antonio elevator is he here yeah hey this is a double gdpr violation because he has a phone number I'm not gonna call you but I believe it's you I don't care installations yeah he's 52 and I'm going to ask for wish from demons that is there we we actually ask all our sponsors if they wanted to

give away something and Simmons did so Louise is coming over to and it'll pick the winner that guy that we talked about yeah yes yeah you same is the same and they have quite tonight it's especially yeah well it's what's good it's your prize so he gets to do whatever you want if you want another guy it's not for in Sivan's for me it's okay are you yeah it's okay isn't it activating still on a job generator wow wow this is a lot of stuff it has to Zahn steps it's rigged it's no it's not it's not I don't know here and she yeah nice I told you towards that guy so yeah and it has two stamps on it

yeah is even stem from to zoom and stem so it's so nice yeah and now the price yeah so it's a really cool book actually I love this book and sure it it's the Cuckoo's egg everyone should have read it by now if you didn't you should read or shame on you surely and there's also fluffy stuff here let's show this yeah special pony and and a t-shirt right Thank You leash right that's the sponsors passports again thank you everyone for enduring all of this until now let's see if we still have all the prizes that we two three four five six one two three four five six yeah the math adds up so finally the service yeah

yeah these ones we need them the others not we're going to read all of this so yeah the first person which will receive this is going too long I'm sure you say George our words are digress yes they're cool awesome raspberry pi 0 w Oh congratulations next guy and Ray kokuboro so see here under every rose oh yeah cool so nice to go into the box where's the box and he wins hackers playbook playground book and there you go I'm going to take another one dr. dozous I thought the guys from Siemens couldn't receive any prizes yeah so yeah as it's the does it say nine things in there let me see your vision I'm sorry

so you can win it so nice things yeah you guys suck and you should go kill yourselves from a mountain not very nice stuff yeah I've seen worse believe me yeah this is incredible all of you are nice this is amazing guys and Annie SP 32 with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth nice things yeah that guy on stage is really awesome cool okay so I'll take just two more and we can all go home Valka me see here yeah everyone here it's amazing so you know any wins again Annie SP 32 congratulations yes Lisa come and now we have a special prize I'm not sure if Teemo ft by still here so come on sighs just choose the winner I'll
