and good morning everyone thank you for coming to besides Munich 2019 we're very happy to have you here today and we're honored that everybody showed up and we're gonna have a lot of fun a few of you raise your hands that you have been at other besides events around the world this is Munich is just a very small part of a very large global movement our objective is to increase InfoSec awareness provide low to low cost education and start conversations the event is for free or most of the events around the world are for a very low cost if not for free and we're trying to open discussions with everyone we want to be inclusive and start conversations you

can find out more on security be sighs calm but just to give you an idea there are over 300 events in 100 cities in 26 countries on all continents basements Munich who has been here at besides Munich 2017 quite a few people even have a few speakers who have talked at multiple besides many events so we started small we started with around 80 people in 2017 we had only one day and we had only one conference track that had in parallel workshops last year we grew up right a bit we went to towards 250 people we had two days one workshop day and one talks day and we had two tracks we introduced last year and we're giving it this year

also a rookie track which is a chance for newbies to try out their presentation skills while we help them mint we help them with mentorship choose business Munich 2019 basically has everything that 2018 have plus a few additions this year we are starting with presentations and fashions so towards the end of the day there will be speakers that present the topic and then open the discussion to the audience there's a CTF just through those doors you will find a few of my colleagues who have very interesting challenges for you and I will very shortly talk about that I'll be in a bit more detail but before I some of you might have seen there's some bracelets

around if you're hiring wear blue if you are looking for a job wear orange they wear at reception and you'll probably be able to get some during the breaks I have also a bit sunset news we have two talks that were cancelled last minute today so we would want to ask you to use this time to play the CTF talk to each other share knowledge basically what the defense is about the city that I was mentioning would give him a bit more details so we need to save the cat we have Captain Kryptos revenge and there's a cat you will hear the cat meowing somewhere in the city of space on the ground or the

first floor and you can save the cats if you try to find exploits reverse engineer there's some challenges that require you to venture in the real world not only in the online one so have a look you can access it through a MOOC set dot city of T dot IO and let us know if you need help like I said the city F is just outside of those doors on the ground floor has the headquarters code of conduct so these guys manage is about inclusion and we want to have a diverse range of contributors and participants please respect each other if you see something say something we have a mailing list and the people on in the

picture Nicole Janne and Morton are our chair for checking COC reports also we had this last year and we keep it in our code of contact no alcohol on side please even space so we have a bit larger events based on last year we're on actually two floors you have all enters to what is called 10x Lobby on the left hand side there's a wardrobe there if you haven't dropped your things you're welcome to do it during one of the breaks lunch will be served there when we are currently in what is called 10x through those doors there you will find a city F on the ground floor plus there's a staircase through which you

can get to the first floor where there's the moonshot track plus another very nice space it is here where you can also socialize there will also be covered food during the breaks and during lunch and important part toilets there are toilets on both sides of this room and there are four more toilets on the first floor mmm an important part food there will be two breaks one at 11:00 10:00 to 11:00 for tea and one at 3:35 2 for and lunch break will be served between 1:00 and 2:00 in on the left-hand side of this room and upstairs smoking is not permitted on premises in cool so if you need to smoke please go outside of the

Google courtyard outside of the yellow gates and then a big thank you to the very large team that has made besides Munich 2018 happen it takes a village to build this it's a team of 10 to 20 people you can see just a small group in the picture there's many more like the name say here so please a warm applause to everybody
