[Music] all right you guys come on in let's close it out made it through the weekend come on in can close this out this weekend you guys thank you so much for this weekend for bid's charm for being part of everything that we did this weekend this was [Music]

amazing everybody have [Applause] fun awesome so we we tallied up the year we had 880 tickets that were uh that were sold um over over all this year with many many many many check-ins very close to that ticket count obviously a lot more people here with volunteers with sponsors uh with the organizers a really really great turnout we were super excited uh hiring Village Gold sponsors everything crowds everywhere it was so awesome to see the gold sponsors and sponsor Village thank you guys again so very much so much positive feedback attendees were excited to visit every single table we're excited to see what you guys were giving out to them uh everybody likes the swag so keep that

coming that's part of the official feedback that we've gotten from attendees so far silver and bronze sponsors couldn't do this without you guys as well um many of our silver sponsors were also hiring Village sponsors if you guys didn't make it over to hiring Village line out the door for those head shot line out the door for the career coaching amazing all of these companies thank you again so much thanks for everybody who went and visited the hiring Village Charities thank you again Charities for for being involved thank you everybody for visiting these charity tables uh where's Gary Gary piano bar con man [Applause] he yes provided wonderful service for uh support to vetc do you want to share

some of uh what you've accomplished so this was off the hook in a wonderful way um this is the first year I've ever actually been a speaker because I'm doing piano bar con so so yay yay here and um in what turned out to be two hours and 15 minutes of music I walked away and already gave this money to vetc and and by the way Ellie want come up here for a second um no no no no no no you need to come up here so um I at the piano I raised $145 which is actually a very good return but then people kept finding me in the hallways and I posted about it on

LinkedIn and even Josh marpet who some of you know send me say I'll send a 100 so yeah so um I'd already given him $342 and with the extra money I think we're now unless people want to contribute more we are at $472 for that for that that and if anybody wants to contribute now we can maybe raise it over 500 okay I'll come get [Music]

that we might be over 600 at this point because I'm looking what people are giving me gosh that's amazing and this is the thing of it is I guarantee everybody I mean I'm I'm okay yeah I'm no slouch when it comes to playing piano not at all but I guarantee you the reason I'm getting this kind of respones because of the wonderful charity rather than the wonderful Gary so let me at least count this but I want to I want to count and see what it actually is so I can announce to the room but thank you so much thank you thank you for playing the piano that was awesome uh thank you for the conference organizers and board for

having us here and uh thank all of you for the support appreciate it Gary thank you we had a lot of first timers this year uh not just from attendees but firsttime Charities firsttime sponsors and I think it's it's proven to be wonderful for everybody across the board um Villages and ctfs we also had firsttimer Villages here all those Villages every time we walked by had a lot of participation a lot of really exciting things happening everybody getting super excited about what the next challenge was mental health hackers I hope you all went in there and and relaxed and and emptied that heads space because they were doing uh wonderful things in there too to help

individuals who um who needed to be in that Village to get through the weekend and be here and and be happy and part of the crowd uh so thank you for that uh we do want to announce some winners of Grey log if you guys want to come up here and go ahead and announce your event um

in are so [Applause] generous first of all thank you bsides this was our first time coming and we absolutely had a blast we had a last minute opening we got to run Saturday and Sunday which was a huge unexpected surprise for us last minute threw it together and you guys came came in and made it rain points let me tell you we have never had CTF scores this high at a public venue ever so be proud of yourselves you did great Round of Applause guys based on the number of attendees roughly 9% of the conference attended our CTF that is impressive as well guys thanks again what I wanted to do yes absolutely another round of applause

let's go what I really wanted to do quickly is I wanted to get Paul here who's way better at pronouncing names than I am it's just he's much more used to it yeah that's right don't mess it up um and we're going to start with our fifth place and we're going to move up to our first place winner last we're going to ask that you come up to the stage receive your prize stay up on stage with us because we want to get a shot with you and us as well as a group shot at the end okay all right winners flowers right oh yeah absolutely or whatever prizes we happen to have so with that

our fifth place so with that and of course the pronunciation of names is especially key here because everybody used a handle to sign in we didn't get actual names so we're gonna start off now that my camera just decided to flip there we go with Fifth Place da 2 are you in here dab 2 come on up [Applause] going to get you up here you're going to get a t-shirt we got stairs we got a you can jump if you feel like being Mario

today that's that's right we do have the announcement we're we're rebranding new logos this is going to show that you are an OG an original gry logger

[Applause] now I have to say just to set the stage here in the last couple of hours of our CTF the challenges started getting solved incredibly fast and we had an amazing heated battle between our finalists at the end so let's bring up our runner up hot dog Daddy [Applause]

as we're g get got to get everyone in order there and I'm gonna stand over on this corner to give us a little more room don't knock me off save safety third

all right and now our grand prize winner in first place

sain whoa I know you're excited I I could not have set that up any better thank you

yes oh as you can see I'm just throwing around like all right and our grand prize a shiny new 3D printer [Applause]

and we made sure to get you some nice high quality filament for it too because who wants a printer they can't use day one right you can do that day one all right guys it's really tight up here but I really want to get a group with all us together if we could do that that' be wonderful everybody get to know your new best friends let's get in close try to S why don't you hold that up Dan everyone with a shirt in front of you that isn't holding a printer let's lift those up all right let's get one more round of applause for our winners [Applause] congratulations everybody and uh let's go down those stairs

CTF all right next we have iot Village iot brought a a more difficult CTF this year but attendees were were definitely not up to the challenge there were no winners though so sorry

and last but not least of course RF hackers Sanctuary is anybody here with RF hackers all right perfect the whole crew is coming [Applause] up we're just going to bring all the players up is that okay you don't mind we just like a group [Laughter] photo all right we uh actually hold the bsides charm record for broken chairs thank you thank you we look forward to coming back next year and breaking more chairs there is a weight limit on the chairs in our village and I'm the waight if this looks familiar to anybody who's nervous right now I'm not kidding that thing broke into like a thousand pieces there's a lot ofone of yeah for for a hacker conference

there was a lot of cameras came out without my and there's already memes on our Discord I mean to be fair meme there's it's only one so far there will be stickers all right so uh in addition to Breaking chairs we had a wireless contest uh as usual there was a room full of people with radios and there was a lot of battling in the air invisibly I mean you can't see it but that's what the sunglasses are for you can anyway so we had 22 teams that actually put real points on the scoreboard not just the giveaway points and of those teams there was an incredible lead by blunder bus all the way through day one

until about 45 minutes after and then they started losing and then three seconds four seconds before the end they submitted one of the larger flags and ended up taking the lead again and kicked some butt so go blunderbus absolutely amazing Victory and we're so happy for them number two what the freak who's is another one of our regular competitors and number three free public Wi-Fi there were challenges all across the Wi-Fi space Bluetooth um NFC and RFID infrared 8021 154 uh we had a children's toy there and you got to go to Juan school to learn how to make the magic little terrifying creature scream at you and it was great much fun was had

we really enjoy being here thank you for having us and look forward to seeing you all next year thank [Applause] you all right oh my gosh we're not going to be able to invite anybody up on stage anymore after this event jesz all right um next up uh Flair who was a first time um gold Village or gold sponsor Village sponsor uh flare provided a bottle of something and beanie um I don't know what I don't know what the the liquor bottle was it was yeah something Scotch it was a scotch a giant bottle of Scotch um the winners have been notified by text so if you did not receive that text you are not the winner they're 21

right yes 22 they are 22 Yeah but thank you thank you to to flare for for that clear Edge IT solutions are you guys here they are not they are not here okay they were almost nearly handing out four flipper zeros they did is that how you pronounce it for yeah flippers they're flippers they should have announced already to those winners uh but if you did not have an opportunity to to stop by their table keep an eye out for them next year cuz those flippers were pretty awesome looking all right trar is anybody from trar here no so I think I think trar gave away a ticket to Defcon pretty nice yeah awesome very good and then a back

doors and breaches expansion pack so look at our sponsors working together how exciting if you guys didn't notice all the different badges that we we had across for villages sponsors you guys these Graphics were awesome this year uh these take a look at the the awesome work that our Graphics team put together we are super excited about those and um hopefully you know every organizer every attendee every sponsor everybody has enjoyed uh those Graphics all the faces of bside charmm coming together at once here um we also want to make sure we thank all of our organizers we absolutely absolutely can't do this without the organizers as well it takes a lot of people to make sure this thing
