Bsides Edmonton 2019 Highlights

My name is Nikisha Farrow. I'm really excited to have this opportunity just to talk about what B-Sides means to me. I work with the planning committee to put this event on and it really is great just to be able to build community in Edmonton. This is the second year we're doing it and we have got an amazing turnout. We've got really great speakers, a CTF happening, training happening. and really awesome food from a great venue at Nate's.

Hi, I'm Jason Maynard. I'm a cybersecurity professional in Alberta. What B-Sides means to me, I think there's a variety of things. It's a place or culture where anybody can come to, whether you're in security or dabbling in security. The sessions are amazing. They're anywhere from deep technical, like turning knobs and geeking out like myself, or as maybe high level as risk management. So there's a little bit of everything at B-Sides and B-Sides Edmonton has done a really great job of bringing the community together to be able to share their experiences.

Hi, I'm Darren Guinan. I'm a security professional here in Edmonton, Alberta. I'm really excited about B-Size and what we're doing here in the community. We have an amazing IT community and bringing and having an event like this is exactly what we needed to bring that all out and get to show that to all the different people coming in into the city from both the speakers, the manufacturers who supported it and to capture the flag. It's been an amazing event and I hope we can take this event and build on it and make it better.
