Thank you servos and good morning to everyone of you. A very warm welcome to besides Munich 2025 the 9th edition and this year we are all about one simple single word that is nine. Nine because nine

Right. Simple single small word nine. Now nine in German means no. It is short simple yet extremely powerful. Now this short simple word in cyber security it's one of the most important words because when we say nine we say nine to being insecure we say nine to being defenseless and we say nine to letting the attackers write our story. No, never. In this world which is constantly saying yes to hey let's move fast let's break things. We as the defenders we are the ones who knows when to exactly say no and slow things down because when we say no when we say nine we are actually saying yes to something bigger better and secure. We are

actually saying yes to resilience. We are actually saying yes to trust. We are saying yes to integrity. And we are saying yes to the security that actually means something. Now a lot of nine we heard. But this year's theme is not about negativity. It's about empowerment. It's about the courage to draw boundaries in our orderless digital world. When someone tries to push insecure code in our production, we say nine. When our manager says, "Uh, well, we don't need that patch." We say nine. And when the attackers knock on our ports at 3:00 a.m., our defense mechanisms must say nine. Because saying no at the right time is what keeps our digital world from falling into the chaos.

And of course, none of this magic would happen without huge support from our sponsors. Let's give a huge round of applause to all of our sponsors and supporters. Because of them, they said yes. So, we all could say nine. Thank you dear sponsors for your support. You helped to keep this community running. And from coffee in our hands to the Wi-Fi that we are not going to pentest right now. nine. Thank you. So now let's move quickly forward and see what's in store for the day. But before we do that, I am really grateful for our CFP review board for their efforts that we have today. Amazing lineup of talks. Thank you so much CFP review board. We have talks

ranging from everything from offensive security deep dive to defense that scales from some crypto mishaps to hardware hacks that could make your motherboard blush. And speaking about hardware, we do have the hardware village taking place at Leille uh Calgary, sorry. and place to visit. Whether you're a soldering pro or just interested in knowing what's actually going on in your gadgets, this is a place to be to tinker, build, break, and learn. And for those of you who prefer caffin with a side of competition, we have a CTF running throughout the day. So please make sure if you want test your skills, break the code and then claim the bragging rights. We do have CTF awards ceremony today

during our closing session. So make sure you stick around for the prizes and the glory and eternal hacker fame. So now further to go ahead deeper into our conversation let's take a deep dive into understanding the idea of this year that is power of saying nine. Our opening keynote speaker truly embodies the theme of this year. He spent over 20 years from research and engineering to leading offensive security as senior principal engineer and head of red team at Infinian Technologies. He has been a founder, a researcher, a reviewer, and a relentless advocate for getting security done the right way. Please join me in welcoming Martin Bruner as he explores what happens when we hear or say nine and how in the end

we can sometimes turn that nine into a very powerful, stronger, better and secure yes. Martin, the stage is yours.
