hi I'm Amanda from the SB community and today I'm at besides Vancouver Island with Sonia Sonia can you introduce your hi I'm Sonia vario I work for first West and I'm here in vanover Island um at the conference as a part of a war member fantastic Sonia you do blue teaming can you tell me a little bit about what that is yes basically blue teaming is trying to protect the company from outside threats we are looking at different infrastructure different configurations and try to protect and put security control so thre actors don't enter our infrastructure fantastic how did you get started with blue teaming so actually that was a good question I started with sofware

engineering and I didn't really know about cyber security all it was had some friend friends that were pentesters actually they got me involved they were like what oh what Cy security is a thing and I always dream with I don't know if you guys watch Criminal Minds yes vanilla perrus she is my idol so I was dreaming like okay I'll be that person I started with them Roberto from what sec give me a free ticket for besides 2019 and I went and I saw Tanya and I was like oh I want to be like her too so I started getting involved learning and going to conference and Network working and that's what really got me sted to

cyber security that wanted to help and find problems and Sol solve them that's amazing so now you're a volunteer at besides Vancouver irent so can you tell us a little bit about that and how you would get into something like that for sure so yes I am volunteer so I started last year so Ryan he used to be my boss in first West where I work and he invited me to be on the B I say yes I was started and have been with them since then organizing events having the network and knowing the people anyone can get involved we call for volunteers if you come to our conference just let us know that you want to be
