all right it is sunday afternoon we made it we made it through the day what'd you guys think have fun this was great this was a great weekend i loved that we brought the energy back together we brought our friends back together we had a great time we hung out some people got drunk we had a lot of fun some of us had to take the other ones home but overall great trainings great talks great villages we had a lot of fun a lot of competitions taking place and really a great event that a lot of people hopefully took some good experiences home from so some statistics as we ran the numbers from this year compared to previous

years this is our year six of the event going into this recovery we knew there's some obstacles that we're facing uh previously we had seen a massive growth we expected a drop off this year and we did see that drop off however the ones who did show up had an amazing time as we've heard you have seen our great keynotes the saturday morning keynote also was not recorded so if you had a chance to sit through that that was a lifetime experience consider yourself lucky for that uh so this is also an event that we really strongly believed to hold in person looking at virtual in 2020 virtual 2021 it just didn't make sense we are not a

baltimore virtual community we're friends we want to see each other we want to give hugs and handshakes and we just want to meet and have fun so i thank you again for coming in 2022 those who arrived and we're going to see each other in 2023 which i'll talk about later on even larger in numbers so i'm greatly looking forward to that i want to give some good shout outs though again to our sponsors the one who actually make all of this happen this costs money so big shout outs caci tero price for really helping us get the wall rolling on this also a call sorry yes the aci let's give them a big round of applause

and our silver sponsors again who really helped us clear up the big items we needed the ones who helped us bring together great food great dinners the appetizers the free drinks on saturday that many people here appreciated and loved we really want to thank all the sponsors that came through for that as well as many of our broad sponsors as well who also helped us bring together the professional environment we have our excellent av technicians who came in who are super professional and just knocked us out of the park made things a very great experience for speakers trainers keynotes a lot of this was made to through our sponsors and you probably also saw many of our

effects from our custom sponsors so greylog was kind enough to fund all of our landers this year very spiffy if i say so myself great color scheme on that as well as clear jobs who help put together and run our hiring village so many of the sponsors you saw here in the hallway as well as in hiring village on saturday and hopefully had a great chance to go speak with them talk with them see what opportunities they had as well as learn from them and get experience on how to sell yourself in this industry how to build out your capabilities and get a better job or improve the job you already have all right so thank you to our sponsors

thanks [Laughter] stall the whole con for us to walk up here hey i've got a radio finally yay radios are gone hey thanks again um yeah we've been working with besides charms since the beginning we're baltimore baltimore-ish baltimore our whole family's been here forever so having this group this local is just absolutely awesome um we've run this capture the flag we put a lot of time into it we had some virtual players we had some local players both finalists have been in the back there and it came down to literally the last 15 minutes um first place and first loser what is it what what the freak and blunderbuss uh what the freak won they're getting a 250 gift card um and

some other stuff that we're going to send to them and they got a really cool preview of what's going to happen at defcon blunderbuss who didn't write a wiki article that would have given them the win after about a hundred hints at the very end came in second 150 points and then uh or 150 dollar gift card and then who came in third i don't even remember what the freak free public wi-fi came in third so if you if you all join free public wi-fi thank you uh we really appreciate that that helps our numbers a lot i totally made that up they weren't even broadcasting um they get a 50 50 gift card um

okay yeah yes so i'm gonna head this off to iot yes all right y'all it was obviously our first time because i didn't even recognize our slide but we're fathom five we got invited here kind of late um we met some people a month or so ago that said hey we loved your game will you bring it to besides charm and we were like hey we'd love to get some more know some more people so we did it was great i we it was such an intimate experience with lots of people just coming coming by and saying like i don't know much about ics but what's up with this and and just uh just getting

to educate the community um and we also had some people play the game and actually put a lot of points up so uh first off in fourth place it was echelon they had to stick around who kind of came in at the very this afternoon they may not even know that they came in fourth because they just did it this afternoon and third we had the three stooges who did uh who did great we got the three stooges anywhere in here nope and then uh we got zero clue who came in second we got zero clue in here all right and so and then and and the winners and i love this group who are

college students who actually many of them were down in fort lauderdale when we ran this challenge at hack the port and then are all local to the area so they came back so first place is for signal 9 for 2230 and and just to reiterate that um this is our first time here i didn't know there was cash prizes until the guy was up here right in front of me and not to be outdone we had a i just decided about 30 seconds ago we were given a 250 150 and a 50 gift prize right thank you so much appreciate that and since only first place showed and i don't even know the names of the people

in places two three and four you all won the whole kitty so uh so for for a bunch of college kids you're gonna that's gonna afford a lot of ramen that's gonna be great and uh just like i said we'll be running this team at defcon with a lot more harder challenges and some extra consoles that includes two or three more ics protocols that we didn't run today so we'll see you all awesome thank you all right thank you awesome stuff uh if you hadn't seen the badges as you're floating around you also noticed we had the theme of the election security from 2020 and 2021 and 2022. so these were an awesome fun time for us to

organize and design and just brainstorm these cool designs the idea if you not catch it is it is a voting between a crab and a seagull so there was a competition between the two however every now and then the volunteers will come in and have a hanging chad there because they didn't know how to vote so we had some great fun with this um and again thank you to our sponsors for helping us put all this together so there's a collection thank you for everyone who attended besides charm you got your nice little sticker as a badge for that thank you [Applause] so a big thank you i'll go to the list here our speakers excellent workouts

these last two days our trainers we have multiple classes going on we have a class going on right now that's wrapping up still uh some great content there a whole day of powershell analysis a whole day or half a day of dark web practical like automation and scripting and now securing aws environments going on right now our volunteers and our organizers who have basically just run this thing like a well-oiled machine uh hopefully everyone had a great time if you did if everything looks smooth you can thank them for all the work they did i'm gonna pause there because they deserve a loud round of applause

all right and last two uh sponsors we already thanked a lot of them so i don't want to thank them again uh too much but we also want to thank our hosts so the beautiful sheraton baltimore north here has put together a great facility for us they've helped us out they come through on the back in many hidden ways that you didn't see to help really make this event smooth even until four o'clock this friday night to really get things in place uh so that it was just a nice conference for everyone great food as well that they provided for us great fun and i hope everyone appreciated uh the venue and what they will provide for us so thanks to them

[Applause] and they're closed out we love feedback we want to become better i feel like every year we have come become better in many ways and we want to continue that but we need your feedback go back a slide oh sorry i double click thank you i should probably look at the screen as i'm talking so we need your feedback so that we find ways to improve uh how can we prove one as an event uh one give us a feedback on location pricing how did we do on our talk selection how do we do in the way we select the sponsors and how engaged were we with the audience this is the great feedback we need to ensure

that we come back in 2023 with an even better experience how do we top the great stuff we're already doing now i'm not sure but we're gonna figure out how and as well as the overall talks themselves and trainings there is a form there that you can fill out for each individual talk that you went to please give feedback we provide that back to the speakers if they request it positive negative this is all room to improve for all of us you saw many first-time speakers here you saw many local speakers here you saw many with some great ideas that they're still trying to hash out but there's genius work that there is going into play
