About this talk
BSides Groningen 2025 was a tremendous success! After several years of not being held in the Netherlands, the event finally made its return to the country. From Las Vegas and New York, the conference has now found its way to Groningen. This year's event saw approximately 150 participants, and we received over 40 submissions for talks. Unfortunately, we could only accommodate 8 speakers. In addition to the talks, there were Capture The Flag (CTF) challenges and lockpicking villages, ensuring there was something enjoyable for everyone in the cybersecurity community. It was a day filled with fascinating insights and the opportunity to connect with both new and familiar faces. The event provided a platform for sharing knowledge, networking, and fostering a sense of community among cybersecurity enthusiasts. We look forward to seeing you next year!

Today was the first besides Cronia event after a couple of years of not being in the Netherlands. Uh [music] we were hosting the first one in the Netherlands again. So from Las Vegas, New York and now even in Cronia we are organizing Bites events. [music]

There were like 150 participants. We had over 40 submissions for talks. Uh but we could only fit eight people on the stage. We had a lockpicking village, a capture the flag event, so more than enough fun for all of the cyber security community. Cyber security is pretty big here, but it's also small. So the whole community knows each other. And it's really nice that B size is actually here in this city uh promoting all the professionals that are here, but also the the new wave of uh security professionals that's coming up. It was a fantastic experience [music] really. Like I had like a lot of fun. I don't know like I loved like the community vibe you know it was like

really nice like a really really nice experience. Otherwise you work for your company but you don't really get to meet like other people outside of your zones. It really helps to build [music] connections with with others but also just having like a fun time learning about new things, building a community and being able to learn and connect with others personally. Join the vibe, drink a beer, talk to each other, and keep meeting new people. Even if all the people already know each other a bit, there's always more cool security professionals around here. It was a [music] nice event. We see a lot of people laughing. There's still a lot of people hanging around for the

drinks. So, we will definitely be hosting it next year as well.
