so welcome to bides our first one of 2024 I'm the only one um and um yeah what a journey um it's is we started this year ago and uh I can't believe we're here now with all you um people in front of us um and we've had some really really lovely talks throughout the day as well so very very thank you for coming along um yeah so um let's start with the sponsors we couldn't have done done it without them um thank you to optimizing it for sponsoring the Afterparty um and being our plattinum sponsor please do go say hello and um sorry yeah I forget there's a screen there yeah um please do go up and say hello

bronze sponsors as well um they've been sponsoring things like the lanyards and um have given us the extra bits of funding that we needed just to get this over the line so thank you very much so more importantly finding your way um probably guessed where the food is um so basically when you exit out of these rooms now I'm going to get this completely wrong because my brain's a bit mush um but if I'm right the red track is up and right up top yeah and the blue is up and left or down and right down and right I knew I'd get this wrong and uh the purple track is just by the shop which is right above us

is purple track I knew I'd get this wrong purple purple room purple truck what's really annoying is that I can't see my notes so I am completely guessing as I'm going along I've written all these notes down best laid plans and all so reference ticket uh sticker store um this is located at the top and uh do go and visit uh donate to the page show your donation and grab yourself the stickers the prices of the stickers uh can be given to you um if you go and ask the members of the volunteers on those stalls um there's an enter um an opportunity to enter the charity raffle to win Top prizes such as the F1 Lego

car um the exclusive b-size posters and also um limited edition um CA stickers as well um yeah so the auction that's what I was leading into um we are auctioning off this uh tamper bid tamper t-shirt um it's their 10-year one so it's a very special t-shirt W be one more made of that again donate get your raffle ticket and uh good luck to you uh if you've got the wrong size t-shirt we are offering um a t-shirt swap after 11 11: a.m. at the swag shop so that is the um wooden uh stand on the left hand side as you came on the entrance and it's got the oh you put it on top of it okay put

it on top so um and you'll be able to go up there swap out your T-shirt If it's not the right size and I think that also apply for people who bought tickets late and they'll be able to go and get a t-shirt if there's one in their size left dot system do make use of this because it's really whole point of a bsid is about community and collaboration and kind of getting to know each other networking learning something from it and um so do look up the dot system if you didn't notice it on the way in when you're doing your check-in go back um to the main desk and then you will find the dots on there

where you're writing your name out and you can basically stick the the appropriate color stickers on there it's just a way of not having to say I'm looking for mentoring people can visually look at the L yards and actually see um what people are needing help with or willing to help with the yellows dangerous the yellows are very dangerous close you um I mean couldn't have plan that any better um we're all friends here AR we it's the only sticker choices we have I mean it's a really good way of getting out of your comfort zone if you don't like talking you'll also really know you've got the wrong one as well Jud You by their reaction yeah I mean if they

turn turn your back on you then definitely know that they have an orange sticker not Yow so um there is that um scavenger hunt is ongoing along with the CTF um so they are two different things um give me the microphone oh and it's over to Adam Budd hello everyone uh so yeah we've got two ctfs going on uh today we've got the call light one so that's four separate workshops so if you've ever been interested in blue team um go on that there's some really good prizes as well that they're giving out there's some t-shirts on the spot prizes you get to go through a load of logs and try and work out who the attacker is try and

find out like all the like information about where the attacker's from looks really good I've seen a little bit of it it looks awesome um the QR code for it which is also in your booklet is like a little booking system because the the sessions are limited to about 15 people um so just have a look at that first or at around the time just go and check out the door as well I'm sure they will accommodate you and then the scavenger hunt CF was the one that started yesterday at 9:00 in the morning um I feel like I'm doing a fairly good job with it because I pissed off a few people which you know you're doing a CTF

right if you're annoying people um I've just enabled I think another seven onsite challenges as well so we got some really good prizes as well uh we got this nice first prize we've got a limited edition uh Red Bull uh bag and and we've got 10050 and 25 Amazon vouchers we've got some pentester lab vouchers we've got um a load of goodies in there RI Quest has also done some um airpods as well for first second and third place so yeah joining that it's really good fun it's available for any like entry level as well so it's more about puzzles and stuff on the infc like Canon related so don't worry if you're new to it there'll be stuff that that

you can do on there it's good fun that'll finish it back half four and we'll announce the winners at the closing ceremony thank you Adam sorry about that so there is some amendments uh Justin um unfortunately can't make it um so that was the blue track this afternoon at 3:35 also we've had a a late one from uh Kane he's unfortunately very unwell and uh so he can't make it either which is a bit of a shame um we've also got some sorry that's the keynote we'll figure that one out yeah we'll figure we will figure that one out and um some Alternatives here as well so player ready room from 11 um we've got the uh

hero V VR and 11:30 we've got the Minecraft coding room which um was going to be really good for some for the kids which is upstairs if anyone's looking for it uh code of conduct don't really need to read through this by verbatim but basically the long story of it is short of it sorry is be nice um you know be respectful for one another and be professional is chat and house r u this one OB obviously basically gets misunderstood a lot even I took about three or four attempts to understand it um basically what stays within these four walls stays within the four walls we don't communicate outside of it people that um opportunity to discuss things and ask

questions and learn um don't really need to say um there's a reason why there's the lawnmower icon on the bottom please do not hack things um the university will not allow us back to this great venue again so please don't do that and know the law mowers are definitely not running on Bluetooth and then we'll introduce you guys to our keino speakers uh Richard D and Matt Broomall thank you
