Evening Kamill happy to have you in today's uh conference besides security conference 2024 edition. A very quick introduction about yourself. Thank you Ram. Absolutely pleasure attending the conference and meeting you. So thank you. Yeah. So my name is Kamill. Uh I am VP and CISO for ASM technologies. I had the cyber security practice as well. Uh I have about 25 years of experience um in IT and security. Awesome. With such a wealth of experience, I'm sure you have seen a lot how the domain has evolved over the years. So any thoughts on how the evolving security threat scap is um and what people should be concerned about especially companies and CSOS. uh also if you have to pick up the
latest trends obviously everyone talks about AI but in particularly in AI if you look at one area which is emerging is the co-pilots and as I see it co-pilots are going to be the biggest insider threat tools uh I spoke about this few days back I might sound like a tape recorder but if you just Look at uh what copilot does is searches your entire network based on your keywords and whatever you are putting in and if your access control on your files on your links on your shared drives if you are not managing that well actually it pulls out everything and shares it with anyone and everyone. So though that information was always available but a individual cannot go and
search every folder and find where does he or she has access but right now you give one command in your if you just say teams it can pull out everything from your environment. So as I said unless that is managed well with appropriate access controls uh and uh your arbback solutions uh and proper uh encryptions I think that's going to be a major security threat going forward. Uh it's scary though but AI is a uh you know flavor of the season and uh with a lot of AI tools that are emerging uh any thoughts on the use cases for enhancing cyber defense. Um yeah so it's available for both right it's available for hackers it's
available for us u leaving aside the hallucinating part of it that's also a big challenge and uh yesterday one of uh the person was speaking in another conference and he spoke about that how a lawyer in US used genai to generate some of his uh submission to the court and which actually was not true and that actually the guy finally was barred from the by the bar association. So that could have probably picked up from some novel right because it can pick up from wherever. Yeah. So if you leave that side aside and if you do verification on what you generate from GNAI I think it's a fantastic tool to use. Okay. So you you can do in terms of uh you can
generate your scripts, you can generate codes, you can generate your various cyber defense tools using it. Uh but you just need to make sure you manually verify those and use it appropriately. Awesome. Cool. Uh before I let you go, I want to uh uh see how you enjoyed the conference. Any takeaways, any learnings from today's uh sessions? So it's an amazing conference. So first of all I got a chance to participate in a CISO round table with Dr. Subramaneshwara IPS. Yeah IPS and we spoke about security leaders uh contribution to national security what can we do what can we do to contribute to that? Some very very interesting thoughts came out of it and uh uh some of them were one is of course
the awareness everyone talks about we spoke about how to make the cyber police more approachable. Oh okay. The image of otherwise the polices the people don't want to go there unless it's absolutely necessary. But if you have to report cyber crime okay that face has to change. People need to see the police at such as a friend and not somebody who's scary right citizen friendly. So that's that's one thing came out and Dr. Subramaneshwara mentioned that he's going to take some of these to the government. We also talk about cyber defense uh centers and building some frameworks at the center level and so on. Awesome. Uh but more than that I think the greatest part of this event is
we got to meet everyone in the cyber security indust community in Bangalore. So I guess only some people would have missed it and uh great to meet all of you. Great organization absolutely smooth all the ways. A pleasure an honor to thanks very much for having us here. Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts and your time. Happy to host you.
