BSidesLisbon 2024 - Overview

[Music] he [Music] I really like besides Lisbon uh this year is no different than the others so it's it's awesome I mean I can't wait to to to be here next year and the opportunity for us to be uh in these uh events and in this conference is very important being together with the community taking a look at what the research is coming out and the talks and all the new topics that are emerging from from the community as well and I was very curious about the hacker scene in Portugal so I was very happy that you guys accepted the talk and loving it so far our our company Char 49 only sponsor besides because

it's part of us I hope we can continue to to sponsor this amazing event so this is very fun actually it started out really small you know and then it started growing and becoming like different shirts different posters so becoming more more a story than a whole uh artwork only we are growing we're about 50 people now in Portugal so it's important to be part of the community part of apsi and also part of bides and to be very honest I think it's the best event in Portugal and is always great as always always good people uh always nice presentations and always stop not I talk about secret scanning because it's one of those things that when a company

wants to improve on their security poster they just go for sus or they go for SCA and things like that uh I hope you expand it 3 days you know make it bigger maybe even two tracks you know we we I think we need this in Portugal every year it's a it's a good Gathering point it's that place that once a year I see old friends and it's good to talk about the new trends and what's going on here I don't know it's a great place to be to have contact with our potential customers existing customers with the community we also are hiring people so it's also a good thing for marketing for hiring and that's bit

of our story this year uh besides has sold out in like 24 hours and to be here and to be part of the the community and getting uh people to know uh ourselves and and getting to know s OverWatch is really important and knowing what's really exposed in your system and what can be attacked by the malicious guys it's its core so together all these Trends prioritization is key and I believe it will be a trend in the in the coming year it is always changing so challenges are just just next to our door or in the beginning of a new [Music] day I believe it's the best conference right now in Portugal and of course it

makes a lot of sense to us to just not participate but also to to help we see is that uh organizations still need to invest in In classical security controls uh and really continuing to grow that Baseline of Security Management oh yeah I'm loving it uh I've been surrounded by brilliant people here and they're all smart they know what they're talking about and I got to learn a lot from them as well during the conversations give something back for the knowledge that that we and our our teams are um are gaining here I came here to present about a research that I've did recently uh about a a proxy Mal and the Bon so I

came here to share some details about stuff we were able to discover

today I talked about Smart City insecurities so buzz word to Battlefield and talking about the cyber security challenges the smart cities and unique risks and overlaps cyber was always challenging right it's what makes it fun and uh with the Advent of AI now things are even faster and more challenging than ever we have a product to keep our custumers safe 24/7 and we them before they actually get cracked by the bad guys with Co we have seen the rise of cyber crime uh leveraging on the need of the companies to be more connected more digitalized I presented about AI specifically kind of how the bad guys are using it so all the nice things with

deep fakes creating fishing emails and malware and how to prevent against it because it's happening for sure

companies need to invest in Ai and they need to be careful with AI attacks we understand this is a very important uh event in Portugal regarding uh information security and we can say that besides it's like a broader to us I was presenting sbox API this is a sandboxing framework that my colleagues and I have written at Google besides Lisbon is the reference for security conference in in in the region there's so much interaction so many people it's an absolutely brilliant event well done guys the attackers are ever more professional they have access to top-of-the-line tools they have the time to to attack our clients besides is one of the key events in cyber security in
