Good evening Anurag. Happy to have you in today's uh uh event besides Bangalore conference 2024 edition. Uh quick introduction about yourself. Sure I'm very good evening. Uh pleasure. Uh thanks for having me here. Uh yeah I'm Anurag. I head information security and compliance practice for a US-based insurance firm. It's called Fair. It's a startup. Uh yep. Awesome. So very quickly I want to check on the top uh three uh risks in uh cyber security today given the you know massive uh change in the threat scape that is happening. Yeah, I think u I mean if you ask me I would categorize uh you know top three things as lack of boundaries uh you know in the security
landscape uh and uh the threat from all the new technologies right both from the threat from both data perspective and the uh regulatory the legal requirement perspective. So uh you know be it IoT or AI you know evolution of new technologies and the threats uh from that and probably the skill set right. So when you are up for you know solving a challenge or facing something so you need the right skill set to face the problem. So having that ammunition is important uh right so those are the three things that I would uh you know think of. Good. Uh coming to the hot topic of the uh last few months is the geni adoption. So how do you see a geni
use case in enhancing cyber defense? Well, two things. Uh, one is I see a lot of use cases uh, especially in the incident management and SIM, you know, places where traditionally you have a lot of alerts that are being flooded and it's difficult to find the uh, you know, rule out the false positives and identify the actual ones. So, I see a lot of use cases uh, coming up there a lot of scope uh, you know, there you know especially when it comes to defense. The other part is uh it's interesting actually I saw it in one of the sessions today morning uh around learning from natural uh uh you know learning from nature actually you know
how to defend uh you know learning from nature so I think u you know my takeaway out of that session uh especially is it it's actually interesting to uh you know AI is all about data set that you're using at the end of day right so you know how can you use different data sets in solving one particular problem not just the uh data set that is relevant but How can you you know broaden the thought and use multiple data sets to solve one particular problem? Maybe that can be an interesting area where we can see you know some very niche uh you know solutions coming out of uh the use of AI especially. Okay, good. Uh as a seasoned
uh cyber security leader being in the industry for so long uh what are your top three areas that we can do better in cyber security? Well, I think uh visibility is still the top one. And uh I think I've been saying this for quite some time. So uh even today I think visibility is the biggest challenge uh for any uh you know environment uh for that matter big or small. Uh I think having everything under our radar is uh you know key thing uh to have. The other part is uh you know the multi cloud environments u and having the appropriate skill set who can actually tackle problems in all different you know cloud providers is one thing that
is a challenge and uh you know there many challenges right. So even the uh the privacy laws that are coming up and the implication of those you know on your entire strategy how you design your strategy is another challenge that is uh coming up. Even India is coming up with the DPDP uh act that is passed in the parliament but waiting for a notification from the government. So uh yeah I think multiple challenges. So these are a few that I can think of on the top of my mind. Good. Uh finally your takeaways or learnings from today's conference. Yeah, it's it's always nice to be at uh besides Bangalore. So there's a bit of everything uh for
everyone. Uh bit of something for everyone uh right and besides so you have uh you know sessions that cover application security that cover data privacy uh that cover compliances uh you know in general about the technology uh so I think it's it's a bit of something for everyone you know as a takeaway is something that I like about the sites. It looks like you had a good time. So absolutely absolutely thank you Anak for coming here and sharing your thoughts. I'm happy to host you. Same. My pleasure. Thank you.
