BSidesSF 2018 - Opening Remarks - Monday (Reed Loden)

hello and welcome day two of beside San Francisco 2018 my voice is shot so I'm sorry I'd sound nasally oh sorry again it's so excited to have everybody here it's been a great conference so far you know again hope everybody's been enjoying themselves hope everybody was able to come to the party last night it was really awesome had a great DJ good food good conversations and I hope ever has been enjoying the talks enjoying the workshops the villages and everything else we have to offer so again the talks are great but there's so much more to besides that one shot should be able to experience while you're here so just make sure to check out everything that

is around and available including the caption of like competition there's a ton of people doing that and I think actually only about half the people here are doing like there's there's half the people playing online which i think is awesome so i just want to talk about a few things again from yesterday but again and you know we're focused on the next big thing so trying to have move forward those conversations that are actually moving our community forward and hoping is helping us to solve problems rather than just continually to complain about them but again this is put on for and by the community it's a hundred percent volunteer run event there's 180 volunteers this year that are filling

250 slots which is amazing that's again give a round of applause for the Aldus volunteers and then my team of 12 staffers that helped me out to put the comfort zone they they work year-round to put this on me this is a lot of work so I want to give a hand run applause to them as well you know there are no attendees again and besides everybody is a participant and add something of value and again not only just our volunteers are my staff and then all of you as well but again thanks to all of our sponsors as well so special thanks to our three leading sponsors cloud passage Google and hacker one but let's give a round applause

Dylan thank you [Applause] just to recap yesterday again could have conduct it's very simple but be excellent to each other we just have a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of physical verbal sexual harassment so if you have any kind of issues find any of the public safety people wearing the red shirts or any of us staff members and we will take care of it reminder about a video and photo policy it's very simple just kept permission of everybody in the in the frame that you're taking so very simple for feedback any kind of session QA is generally done on peer list unless there's extra time in the session itself if you have session feedback to give to the staff as far as

the the speaker goes please put that directly on sched and then general feedback around the conference itself should go on besides SFOR slash feedback and again please provide us that feedback we want to make sure that you're enjoying the conference and that you're coming back here and again a year and year after and so if there's anything that you feel could be improved and better anything that we can do to make your experience even more awesome let us know please and again above all I am seeing a slide one second but I just want to say since it's not up here I'll get this later but when I do I apologies to t---cell we left their ad out of the
