bv.com now before we get started with all of the festivities today I do have a short comment that I want to share about our current reality this year is unlike any other year and we of course are not forgetting for a moment the 120 hostages that are still not with their families they are in our hearts and and we are hoping and wishing for their return we're going to mention this throughout the day it is not trivial for us to gather to come together at this event at this cyber week but we have to keep the reality of our war in mind with that in the case of a rocket siren please stay in your seats we will shelter in place

right here in the auditorium if you are outside in our lobby or on the campus please make your way in here to the auditorium got it everybody it's an important safety announcement now our theme this year is together we hack we are building on the together we win theme that the entire country has shared throughout the last months where we have prevailed and remained resilient despite the hor Ric attack that began on October 7th we are standing together here today with our friends and with everybody serving in the security forces who could not be with us today they are allowing us to enjoy this session by guarding our borders and our digital spheres as well

so we are thankful to their support as always yes yes now is a good time to remember this now is a very good time to remember this so so throughout the day we're going to have incredible content but we are never forgetting for a moment the people that are not with us and those who will never return to their families we are grateful to have this time together to share with you everything and if I'm being honest when everything started to happen as a team we were debating should we even have an event this year after asking the community the answer was a resounding yes despite the reality in Israel or perhaps because of the reality in Israel

40% of newcomers to our event thank you so much for joining us and for those who have already spent time at bsides events you'll know what I'm what I'm talking about bides tlv is part of a Global Security bides Community it all started in Las Vegas about 12 years ago where a group of security researchers wanted to start their own Community event for hackers by hackers with no commercial interests and a stage for the most Cutting Edge content since that first event in Las Vegas bides has become a global phenomena and we are I'm proud to say one of the biggest security bides events in the world yes thank you one of the biggest and the longest running in

fact next year will be our 10th event so this is number nine and we are so happy to have you here with us we start Ed back in 2016 right across the street in a small Auditorium with no air conditioning so please be thankful to the air conditioning and the local cooling we can enjoy here today despite the global warming happening around the world and we're going to have a lot of content for you so just in a glance what can you expect today you're going to see a sold out Auditorium which is going to be full throughout the day it is completely not trivial that we were able to sell all of our tickets and thank you our

participants for supporting and attending thank you and thank you to everybody at home who bought a ticket but couldn't be here in person just to support us there are so many of you now we're going to have amazing speakers many of them are here excited that can't wait so I'm going to move fast so I can clear the stage for them we're going to have a workshop that starts a few minutes after 10: if you have register to the workshop you will get all the information if you have not please look out for our future workshops next year as they do get sold out in advance we're going to have amazing talks and I just

wanted to share this number with you we had more than 100 talks submitted so as you can see the percentage for being chosen to speak here is about uh 25% that's your chance well actually that's not accurate if you want to improve your chances start thinking right now what you want to talk about next year our cfp usually opens in February and it runs until April so have it ready on your calendars for next year now I don't know the exact number of Capture the Flag participants but I expect it's going to be around that number and we will have a CTF announcement later in the day with all the information the CTF is also
