Opening and Closing Ceremonies, CTF Info, Prizes

all right thank you everyone for coming it's uh we definitely appreciate you coming out on a Saturday it's obviously not a workday so you don't get that benefit of skipping a workday but you do get to learn a bunch of good new information so let's get started it's just past nine o'clock now so we're running a few minutes behind but we'll we'll catch up so first I wanted to say thank you to everyone who volunteered to help with the song if you see people around behind desks sitting there either vendors that that sponsored our event here today and and helped to make this possible or their volunteers nobody got paid to do anything here so well we'll

list off all the names in the in the at the end of the event so there's gonna be tons of prizes and giveaways so make sure you stick around till the end but first let's get started there we do have a CTF on site going I'd like to introduce John to talk a minute about that and and introduce the CTF and go from there besides yes all right well welcome everybody as Roman has mentioned we do in fact have a CTF I move this who's gonna break it know it's tied to this thing okay yeah we got a CTF if you haven't seen it out this way around the corner up the stairs up some other stairs just follow the

signs past the cafe we've got some really cool stuff free this year who's gonna play CTF show hands look around look around is your hand not up it should be right CTF that's why you come to these things in my opinion right alright so we've got some good prizes for you this year for the winners we have a HP stream which has been turned into a hack book alright so if you don't have a Calley portable Calley box of your own there you go we've got a what is it it's a yard excuse me hey yardstick SDR kit for you we've got a nice ceh training package and I think we got a couple three-month

but let's let's just announce top three were butter overflow with a score of 5,000 102 points ready player one with a score of 4600 two points in virtual private misery with a score of four thousand twenty eight points so I'm just gonna call butter overflow up here butter overflow [Applause]

we're all just waiting for you that's good all right so we had a a giant stack of prizes to choose from and I'm happy to award butter overflow with their first choice of prize that they have to somehow share this beautiful blue HP stream 11 notebook but that book here you go you guys should have seen the action these guys were behind with four minutes left and then Joe they just turned it around all right I'm gonna call up ready player one ready player one [Applause] that's a lot of player ones yeah alright ready player one they almost had it in first place right up until that four-minute mark and I'm pretty sure that they probably are going to make

butter overflowed right that later ready player one has elected to take something I can't give them which is the 3-month access to pentester academy and attack defense so congratulations ready player one and finally virtual private misery virtual private misery [Applause]

see I like virtual private misery style here because they were offered prizes that you know have a fairly substantial dollar value and what they decided to do was go with prizes that have much more personal value they have elected to go with Archie boys which some of you may know or kind of like an open-source game boy happy to give you guys these see they work like a team all right all right yeah it was it was a pretty good match overall there were 31 scoring teams in the CTF this year which makes it our biggest CTF ever probably the most challenges ever thank you to everybody who played here the reason we do this and we'll see you again next
