BSidesSF 2015 - Opening Remarks

W yeah uh my name's Andrew hay uh I'm hard to miss I'll be the guy in the Hawaii ins sht all day if you need anything please let me know or any of the other organizers uh or any of the organizers I should say just a couple of things uh bathrooms around the corner follow the signs capture the flag is also back there uh lockpick Village up at the front in the loading dock if you guys want to do have any sort of conversations please feel free to go to the alley just because it will get so it'll get warm in here and it sound travels quite far uh so you don't want to disturb the speakers there's two

tracks there's the track upstairs this is track one in the basement track two uh we have charging stations if you need to charge INR and downstairs along this wall uh please don't screw with the Wi-Fi yeah shouldn't have to say that but I did uh help yourself to drinks I've been told more coffee is coming there is coffee being brewed right now is kind of a stop Gap and am I forgetting anything no all right Michael do the rest thanks everyone for coming my name is Mike Don um we put on a lot of these events around the world and it's incredible to see the growth over the years uh specifically this is the sixth

year for bside San Francisco Open DNS has hosted us here we've been at many different venues uh and just want to kind of give you awareness of a couple different things first off uh as Andrew mentioned there's going to be more coffee coming um speaking specifically to the people in the far far back of the room you'll notice that noise level is an issue so please if you want to have sidebar conversations or otherwise wise there's a lot of different places to have that there's picnic tables outside there's a lot of places outside it's actually cooler this room is going to start heating up so please be aware of that also lunch is going to be here

we're going to have a number of different food trucks from 12: to 2: now feeding 400 people in two hours with all the talks is not always going to be easy so we're going to encourage people if you're not at a talk at 12:00 please go outside and get your food I'm going to guess there's going to be a rush of 300 people trying to get food at one o' so please be aware um we're feeding everyone for both days uh if anyone you know a lot of people put a lot of time into putting the events on so if you do see someone wearing a staff or a security badge please thank them for their time and

effort or a volunteer badge you know everyone's donating their time we get nothing out of this all of the ticket sales are going to the eff so out of all the ticket sales we raised n Grand we're going to kick in another thousand and write a $10,000 check to the eff at the end of the [Applause] event that's in addition to any of the walk-in money and the registrations I'm sure you're all going to reup your registration with Aaron and Kelly downstairs so we want to definitely welcome you here if anyone has any complaints direct them to me I'm happy to talk to anyone about anything but again all volunteer run so have a great event and let us know if

you have if you need anything seems like we need some tape for this thing how you do oh I see it balances like that
