BSides Groningen 2026 was a tremendous success! Each BSides is a community-driven framework for building events for and by information security community members. The goal is to expand the spectrum of conversation beyond the traditional confines of space and time. After the succes of BSides 2025, our goal was to bring together at least 150 people from the infosec community. And we went even bigger! This year's event saw approximately 230 participants, and we received over 80 submissions for talks. The schedule was packed with four dedicated tracks: - Technical track - Governance & Compliancy track - AI track - Workshop track It was a day filled with fascinating insights and the opportunity to connect with both new and familiar faces. The event provided a platform for sharing knowledge, networking, and fostering a sense of community among cybersecurity enthusiasts. We want to thank everyone who joined us last Friday — from our participants to our amazing speakers and sponsors. You truly made this edition special! We look forward to seeing you next year!

We are at Kapodus in Fodia. We are here for Bides. Actually the second edition of Bside. It's nice to meet so many different people from the cyber security community in to see so many opinions about cyber security especially in the north. I >> I really want to support nonprofit conferences like this that are for the community and by the community. a lot of nerds that that get along very well. So, it's it's really relaxed atmosphere and a lot of knowledge transfer. So, I really like it. Yeah. Uh last year it was our first V size. So, we had like this kind of try out only a single track uh in a different venue, but this year we went all out,

two tracks, workshop area uh like wanted more participants. So uh we made a big step up from last year. >> What do open- source security and a pizza have in common? I >> I really liked that it's really a technical event. So there's no marketing and sales pitches. It's just like bits and bites on the screen. And that's what I really like about the event. >> Both technical and nontechnical people getting involved and talking about cyber security. uh doing hands-on challenges like we had this whole atmosphere where people actually are doing stuff in the hallway, interacting with sponsors, uh interacting with each other. >> I think it's one of the more welcoming events I've ever been to. It was so easy

to just talk to people and I've had people to come up to me and chat like all the time. The hallway track was phenomenal. >> Was really crowded in a good way. Uh so I liked uh this year that it was a little bit bigger and uh more I think it was a bit more mature uh compared to last year. So we're really a great improvement. >> Knowledge sharing is always important but building community um with all the people in cyber security as a whole I think is really important especially in today's day and age where everyone's really divided. Bring everyone together like this that's where it's at. I already heard people about willing to

get on uh about the date for next year to make sure they get a ticket as well. So, super proud of what the whole crew uh pulled together to uh make up this uh great event.
