Security BSides Athens 2018 (Sat, 23/Jun/2018) Welcome - Security BSides Athens 2018 - Dr. Grigorios Fragkos Conference Organiser On behalf of the Security BSides Athens 2018 team, we would like to welcome you to the conference and open the conference with the following brief agenda: -Welcome & opening remarks (meet the team) -House rules & code of conduct -Get to know our Sponsors -After-Party -Meet our Community supporters -Challenge & CTF -A big Thank You to our Speakers, Volunteers, Sponsors, and the community. Short Bio: Grigorios has more than 15 years of experience in the information security industry. He is based in the UK and has traveled around the world to share his expertise and to ensure that businesses within different sectors (banking, payments industry, maritime, defense & space) are secure against emerging cyber threats. He has an active participation in the information security industry mostly across Europe (including a number of publications, articles and blog posts), with active research in CyberSecurity and CyberDefence. His hands-on experiense in information assurance services and his R&D background in computer security, including his acceptance in applied CyberSecurity at MIT, along with his experience in the CyberDefense department in the military, is invaluable when it comes to safeguarding mission critical infrastructures while being able to understand Cyber Risk exposure. Written the next generation “SIEM” as part of my PhD with ‘notional understanding’ (a “flavour” of Machine Learning) of network events in real-time. Currently, trying to bring the technical experience into the boardroom & to deal-teams, translating the business impact of Cyber Risk exposure of emerging (cyber)threats, to allow stakeholders (i.e. PE firms) minimise the Cyber risk(s) that can lead to value erosion. Grigorios (a.k.a. Greg) has been invited to present in a number of security conferences, workshops and summits over the years. Among his many responsibilities, he has been accepted by ENISA (part of the approved NIS Experts) where he has designed and reviewed exersises for the pan-European exercises for Cyber Europe. He is responsible for organising Security BSides Athens and Security BSides Amsterdam. He is also an OWASP London Chapter leader and a proud supported of the global information security and application security community. When he is not too busy traveling for business all over the world, you will most probably have a chance to find him in most of the InfoSec related events and conferences around Europe. Thinking ahead and outside-the-box when dealing with information security and cyber security challenges, is one the key characteristics of his talks. (Twitter: @drgfragkos)
