BSidesTLV 2024 CTF Results

thank you thank you for them yeah so first of all thank you to uh for the swag to uh veronis thank you very much um a bit statistics um so we had this year we had 43 total H challenges um out of 50 planned but sh happen um 33 remote CTF challenges 10 local challenges H this is a new one um we had 10 treasure hunt challenges which were uh zero knowledge challenges for the juniors um we had one lockpicking challenge booth and one wi-fi hacking challenge um we had 13 categories and two sleepy deprived CTF leaders this is us and what we can say is this this year we wanted to really bring on the on-site

challenges that weren't here in previous years so that's something that we plan to take forward in the next years and you can say how was it for you because we did see a lot of participation so we had H 365 registered users all from Israel Community um 155 Reg registered teams uh 5 600 sorry I can't see in the monitor uh 620 29 uh solved challenges uh total and 76 teams solved at least one challenge um the challenges uh one prime too many and skid solved by 44 teams uh safe no sharing solved by three teams Wi-Fi fund H and Echo in the dark solved only by two teams this year uh funny things did happen this

year so there are a lot of funny things um when we started the CTF uh it was open only to admins so we didn't have more than five minutes to get the notes from

users um so other challenges uh we did have some uh sorry I can't read from the monitor there were no bugs we were just checking if the support platform works well that's it so uh when we started we expected some Flags to to get them quicker than others but funny thing thing is that we got flags from the onsite OS challenge ER submitted and uh in some cases they submitted them over and over

again so that's that was actually the flag and they retried it tried it on each one of the challenges they found it on Google so why not yeah uh

um that was sorry that was submitted they just tried to put the name of the challenges or the description as a flag and that was not the purpose of it so yeah here I can't okay um um what was that oh okay so if you want to open a ticket please use our favorite language binary um funny stuff did happen because one guy decided to uh tried to decode a pan code H the wrong way and got something that says food court H in a challenge that uh that what they were asked um H in the task to say I love I love CTF to the CTF organizers so they just go to the they went to the food

court and just Shout at the people at the food court hey I love CTF I love CTF and instead of finding the person the medal yeah there was one guy that literally solved a challenge and didn't got it because he didn't know how to read lead code um that's fine um we got a lot of uh good feedback uh both in person and uh on the different platforms yeah thanks for the feedbacks if you have feedbacks please please please tell us on Discord the writers would love to hear from you and also we um our amazing CTF team so the CTF leader laiv Ben bar who tried to make haunted house happened but it didn't happen um you will say the other

ones CA the C something yes so we had a few challenges forensics stego uh we did uh do also on-site challenges the haunted house which should have been amazing but uh we had some te technical difficulties so hopefully we'll have one bigger and better next year [Applause] nafar she nfar managed most of the treasure hunt CTF and she bullied all the writers to do things on time which is an amazing job because it's very very hard to get all this operation up and running and in time uh our CTF team also includes Nimrod Levy guy bernhart manen and Omar K so thank you guys for everything thank you very much guy is the lead and the OM did

amazing technical work some of you encountered him go ahead Shon banov pakman virus Masia got him R also got him moral ground Square API ex serial gen safe store wi-fi hacking and lockpicking that's a big thanks because that's onsite which was a key point this year have Gutman call the manager please Idan with your IDE your idy Idan stroinski that was a hard one uh Amit Le safe no chairing also safe no chairing Sim human vs machines the last test sh K echo in the dark theyed it deserved it um shy go Supply the competition a supply the competition and echo's in the dark and the cool H theme in the pages yeah definitely the blue
