to bsides today appreciate it um hope you were able to get out there have some great conversations make some new connections really just want to say thank you once again to everybody that came presented content you know provided the workshops and every all of us as we as participants big thanks to the working group they put a lot of hours into this so really appreciate it um you know big big s in AV and regge and other areas so there's a lot that goes into running a conference of any size okay I just want to reiterate our top Focus points for the event we're really here to build connections hopefully through some of the uh

Hands-On activities and hallway conversations we been able to do that today you know build up the community get more people into it as well as strengthen those that are already part of the community oh that's cool we'll start over what's what's wrong with the screen

yes all right okay well big thank you to the working group appreciate all they did you know hopefully you've been able to make some connections here today and uh you know help strengthen the community grow it make it more inclusive and then you know hopefully as we're kind of doing those things organically we're helping each other out with our careers giving each other advice talking about opportunities um yeah so there's a lot of good we can do in the world so just by you know being friendly and talking with one another okay so I want to talk about the contest um so it's kind of uh the general rules for the contest but basically you know you

got to be here to win the prize mostly so I don't have to ship anybody prizes afterwards so that's the core concept all right and so we do have prizes for the first second and third place individuals as well as the top team um Okay so uh the top team we have was CT CU and the captain was uh this guy 1833 so is are they present that team here today okay do you guys want to come up and get your [Applause] prizes all right we got five five $25 gift cards for you if you don't use apple I don't know what to tell [Applause] you yeah

go yeah yeah so uh there's different types of Capture the Flag cont contest um our Capture the Flag contest here is run by Kevin letic uh he's the head of the service now red team so he's he leads that team they got about 10 red teamers a super smart guy um so this one how would you describe it uh it's like a point based system where you have different challenges and as you solve the challenges you get allocated points um top teams are top individuals whenn the prizes there are other typ typ of CTF tournaments so there's like Jeopardy style right where it kind of operates like a Jeopardy game um and then there's also like the I don't know what you call

them but like more live fire where you have like a network with services and you have different teams defending services so like the Defcon CTF the preliminary to get into the CTF operates a lot like this like a point based system where you have a set amount of time to answer the questions get the points um the you know final CTF at the event more like a live fire thing where you have Network Services that you're trying to defend and you're trying to exploit other people's Network Services um which which is much more intense right you got to keep your stuff you got to have multifaceted you guys feel about the CTF format overall was it good

feedback yeah good aw okay it awesome okay good yeah well if you got feedback uh Kevin's pretty responsive and he's constantly iterating on it so um so just throw it in Discord he's yeah yeah no problem so and I just want to you know I know it's probably too late now but uh you know Mike Weaver and team with the red team Community they they always do a great job of doing something like CTF like but it's more accessible I feel like so okay so we got the top individuals as well and we ended up with a so the first place individual is Arch Havoc I think that's what I was said is that individual okay come on

up okay so we officially we said the switch light but if you don't want that you can pick one of the other prizes there you [Applause] go okay um and then in uh second place we got DSN something don't know how to say it yeah come on [Applause]

nice all right third place we had a tie between N Night blood and studdy M yeah that's a great name okay uh are are they both here night blood are you here okay who's night blood what are you just you're like I'm night blood because he's not here oh you're on okay okay all right okay all right so um night blood and stutter Le Mar come come on up pick you can each pit a prize so what's up I think night blood finished first

yes princess peich get passed over again no one's ever gonna pick Princess Peach my seven-year-old was so stoked to pick that out
