up thank you Dave we had a couple moments there of uh a little bit of fail but uh Dave pulled through so this is going live over the Internet hello internets everybody find it okay look like got a good crowd already awesome all right so uh first things first uh I want to thank all of our sponsors that are able to make this possible um without you guys we wouldn't be able to do this so uh right off the bat I want to thank our local sponsors first of all secure State uh secure state did most of the coordination for uh this room the venue uh as well as Gathering some of the other sponsors so
uh awesome job secure State uh the other two uh the northeast Ohio information security Forum um is one of the other sponsors a uh great local group I don't know if Chris Kimber is here if he wants to say something step on up Chris about the wonderful Northeast Ohio information security Forum it's a long walk um anybody who's not from Cleveland or is from Cleveland hasn't uh been to the Forum we're a local Security Group we meet the uh third Wednesday of every month over an independence um Neo sf.org has all the information on the meetings on the speakers um usually have two talks um ranges from from really technical you know people dropping OD stuff and metlo
techniques pent test techniques to people talking about G C and risk kind of anything having to do with security um open anybody free pizza at the meetings uh meet every month we do the security Justice podcast afterwards um right across the street so that's um that's the Forum thank you Chris please don't mind the earthquake happening we are in Cleveland not California just want to let you know and uh our other sponsor is cbts um could have someone from cbts come on up here give a little uh talk about your company thank you uh my name is Jason Clancy and I am uh the count manager at cbts um happy to be here today and uh be
part of the sponsorship uh we have Rob Andrews with us as well and uh we're uh a a full it infrastructure integrator and uh we're part of the security group uh network security and forensics so happy to be here uh we'll be walking around if you want to uh come and talk to us a little bit more you want to say anything thanks thanks guys and we appreciate the sponsorship all right and uh last but not least we got to thank our Global sponsors for the bsides events uh they helped contribute some cash as well as obviously support and logistical support for this event um so ver Sprite net witness trust wve spider Labs aaro
tripwire and Alien Vault are all sponsors of all the bsides events so go ahead and support these awesome sponsors so real quick wanted to give everybody an overview of what bsides is for those of you that haven't been to obes sides or are unfamiliar with the process um bides was basically started because of a lot of rejections from popular conferences especially black hat USA 2009 um so it really started kind of in Vegas um if those of you have either been to bides Vegas uh every year last two years now it's been in a a mansion kind of run out by Chris Nickerson um Jack Daniel and that crew they do a fantastic job and it's just gotten
bigger and bigger every year um the big thing about bsize is that it's about you guys it's about the participants um we have our sponsors and we have to have sponsors in order to create this event but at the end of the day it's all about you guys um and it's all about creating that dialogue and talking about what's what's hot and security and also you know talking about the merging threats and all kinds of cool stuff um this is not RSA so we don't have Blinky shiny things to sell you um we're all about the dialogue and all about the participants um bsides are all run differently differently this one is a little more organized um but there's
some that you'll find that are kind of just more of like group discussions throughout the day um and a little bit in more informal so um I definitely you know go to security besides. and check out all the other bsides events and everyone is unique it's really a a great uh great organization so the big thing again like I said Drive open dialogue we want to talk about new ideas um get new speakers out there people that maybe the security Community haven't heard about that's what bsides is all about um so definitely check out security bites.com for more information about the other events so today uh just to talk about some Logistics um lunch is on your own
so we're going to break for lunch around noon hopefully a little bit earlier depending on uh hopefully some speakers don't go over if they do we're going to yank them off the stage that's you Jeff that's right um afternoon start the afternoon talks start at 1:00 exactly hopefully a little bit before so just so you're planning for lunch um the cash bar you'll see in the back that's going to open at 100 p.m. um it may be a little bit earlier we'll see but um uh that's open for you guys um the other thing about bsid is we want you to take a break whenever you want talk to people we have the hallway track out there uh we have Chris climber
and the uh tool group out there that have locks and if you do some lockpicking or anything like that we've got that set up um and just talk to people start conversations talk with the speakers get involved that's what bides is all about um speakers need to keep the 45 minutes we will enforce that because we do have a hard cut off at the end of the day um because that we'll have dual core which is going to be performing live at 5:00 pm so you got to stick around for that that's going to be awesome um and we're going to be uh leaving shortly thereafter um and then lastly the feedback form uh we want your feedback
um how the events run how the speakers are and we're going to provide all that information and correlate it and hopefully uh use it for the next spe sides that we do in Cleveland so uh fill out the feedback form throughout the day leave it at the registration table and that would be great so lastly before we kick into the talks I want to thank um obviously there's a lot of people uh that put this together and coordinated all everything for today uh first of all I want to thank uh Cheryl Stasia Sabrina powers from secure state for uh running the registration and doing a lot of the event coordination uh Robert Walland uh he's our graphic designer he did the
shirts he did the logo uh did all the graphics associated with it think they came out pretty cool uh we have Dave Lower uh for doing the technical and the AV and actually getting the stream up thank you Dave woo yeah Dave no fail if you listen to security Justice the podcast that I co-host there's usually some form of fail in our audio so uh we actually have things working for once it's awesome uh myself I'm the speaker Wrangler all day so I'll be your host uh Chris Kimber also uh is doing event coordination and uh some of the volunteer coordination so if you volunteered come see uh Chris and he could probably give you something to
do maybe um Greg fizel who's uh head of the Northeast Ohio information security Forum helped with a lot of coordination want to thank him and then Matt Neely uh he's out there in the back I don't think he has his kilt on today but not today but uh thanks to Matt for helping out and then of course I got to thank the uh bsides national team we we really do love these guys um platonically of course but uh Jack Daniel Chris Nickerson and Mike Don from from bsides national uh thank you for your support and helping getting this event off the ground we really appreciate it and of course our speakers uh speakers like Jeff that stepped up and uh put together
some awesome talks hopefully you guys are going to like the lineup today uh we got some really good talks which will hopefully Drive some really good discussion out in our hallway track so with that we're going to get Jeff set up here and we'll kick right into our first talk with
